Week 6

I did not cook on Thursday since I was busy and lazy. As the result, I receive a positive punishment from my sister. My sister happily asked me to clean the rooms for a week. I can feel that she is very satisfied with my program. I also had negative punishment, convenience. I could not get my meal in few minutes. I need to go out and buy it.

I did not want to get another house work for another week, so I made a fried rice on Sunday with my sister. http://chinesefood.about.com/od/ricefried/r/friedrice.htm Fried rice is an easy dish, and it did not take long time to make it.

I want to change my program again because I realize that if I do not cook for a week, I need to do house work for next two week. For example, I did not cook on Thursday, so I needed to clean rooms till next Thursday. If I also not cooked on Sunday, I needed to do another thing till next Sunday. It is confusing sometimes. Therefore, I want the positive punishment do a little change. My sister will ask me to do the housework until I cooked again. That means I need to cook something, or the punishment would not end. > <

Hope this will work well.

  1. Hey Rachel!
I think most of us had trouble last week so don't feel bad. I also think that it's a good thing to change your program because now you will feel more motivated to actually cook so you won't have to do the house work. It's better to do the positive punishment on a daily bases rather than by week. I hope it works out for you and best of luck!

  2. Rachel, yup a lot of people messed up during weeks four, five and six. Your plan had been doing well up to this week, so I would only see this as a little bump on the road. I think the idea of cooking at home in itself is a hard task for an operant conditioning program, but you have kept it under control, especially now that you are planning the clean up part of the program. Keep it up, it's almost over!

  3. Rachel, dont worry too much about it. I'm glad you stuck with the punishment and did house work. -.- such a drag! but seeing the flaws in the program only helps you find ways to make it stronger, faster, and more reliable. I hope you find something more suitable and that this week goes really well for you! wish you the best and take it one step at a time!

  4. Hey Rachel,
That sounds like a good change, I'm not the first to say this, but yes several people have been having trouble the past few weeks. I myself had some problems, but got back on track last week. Good luck!

  5. Hey Rachel, cleaning the house is an really good punishment, I might have to use it! But it sounds like you have it under control. It also sounds like it is a good idea to change your plan. You know what does and does not work for you, so that is really good.

Hope you do well this week!
